Bridge meshing in Workbench (for Fluent)

2 Attachment(s)
I'm currently trying to perform a LES analysis of a bridge cross-section with railings, and I can only get half decent meshes with the Workbench mesher.

What I'm trying to get is something like the attached "inflation.png", where the railings are contained within small (tri meshed) domains, and the bridge surface is inflated independently of the railings. I'm currently failing at the latter (see attachment; I've used sweep method with manual source, 10 divisions (spanwise), and inflated the edge of the bridge body.) Edit: Also, the inflation fails if i try to extend it beyond the railing domains.

Any ideas?

Sorry, not sure what you are trying to do... If you want the mesh to be conformal between the regions, you should combine the parts into a multibody part.

Why not just use quad for everything including around the rails?
