Subtraction of a circle from a rectangle,Gambit
I am working on heat transfer from a buried pipe and I am simply representing it as a circle in a rectangle (2D) in Gambit, I am confused on how to subtract the circle from the rectangle.
When I subtract the circle and retain it, when I check my edges I find an extra edge created, so now I have 2 edges representing the pipe.
Otherwise, when I subtract the circle from the rectangle and do not retain it, I no longer find the face representing the circle, this seems right to me but I just wanna make sure I am on the right track.
Also I wanna make sure I do not have to mesh the circle face right?
Any help will be appreciated.

your second attempt seems to be the right one (disk not retained), especially if physics in the disk isn't an interest
