Hex meshing problem - uneven
Salutations,
I am trying to use ICEM to mesh, what is basically, a series of rectangles (pipes) This is a model of a Pulse tube refrigerator. I am using the blocking method as mentioned in the tutorials, which requires me to cut the blocks and assign edges and such. When I want to generate the mesh however, I get something like this: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4102/...72ea8d44b8.jpg Where the internal blocks for each section go to different parts on the next rectangle.. resulting in uneven meshes. I was wondering if there is a way to assign single blocks to different sections so that I get even meshes for each section. Thanks in advance, -Christopher |
I am not sure what you want...
Do you want to mesh each section with its own block, but not have blocks connected so that the mesh won't flow between blocks? Yes, you could do that, but I don't think it would be a good idea. Being connected is more important than "even mesh". What you should do is "Blocking => Split Blocks => Extend Split; all" so that you have some more edges to control. You can align these manually or with the align or set location commands (under move). Then adjust your "Edge Distributions" to have a more "even" distribution. |
