Shadow wall region problem
I have a small issue with defining the shadow zone for the intermediate cylinder. The problem is that since both the geometries i.e the small cylinder and the big cylinder are defined as fluid zones. So as a result I can't define a periodic boundary condition for the smaller cylinder. I can define a periodic condition for the blade since it shows me a shadow region as the interface between the blade and the inner cylinder is defined as a solid-fluid interface. Now how do I create a periodic boundary for the inner cylinder?
I am trying to simulate a 3D wind turbine in actual operating conditions. I think it is easier to solve this problem by providing a periodic boundary (giving it a suitable rotational velocity) condition to the smaller cylinder as against having to rotate the blade in itself.
Kindly help me with this problem. Is there a way to impart rotating BC to the small cylinder in Fluent without having a shadow condition?
P.S. Take a look at the attached figure. I have successfully generated a mesh for the entire geometry and have no issues with that.
