meshing a spherical surface

hi every body
can anybody tell me, how can I mesh a spherical surface with a structured hexa grid in gambit? thanks, any help will be appreciate |

You will need to subdivide it into at least 6 surface patches... But then you will have issues with the volume mesh at the "corners".
If you subdivide the volume into 7 blocks (6 surface aligned blocks plus a central block), you could create an Ogrid and that would solve all the problems.. In ICEM CFD Hexa you can do it all in a single operation and without subdividing the geometry... Ball9.gif |
