Trouble with faces

Hello,

I am a noob trying to figure out a couple of things in Simulation with ANSYS 11.0 and would appreciate any help you guys can offer.

More than likely my problems exist because of my geometry in DesignModeler.

In Simulation I cannot specify interior bc's. If my geometry were thought of as two concentric cylinders, how would I specify a bc on the interior cylinder faces?

Further, in other CFD softwares, this simple cylinder problem would require that the smaller cylinder be "cut" from the larger one and then added in. Does the "add material" option in DM both cut and add material so that, somehow, two different materials will exist in the same location?

Thank you for your time.

Cheers,
Grant

Did I post this question in the wrong forum?

Right place, you just need patience with CFD Online...

If you want the inner cylinder to be cut in as a separate volume, you will need to use the option to Add Frozen... This will result in a separate part with faces you can apply bocos to.

If you want the mesh separate, keep the parts separate. If you want the mesh conformal, create a multibody part in DM.

Fantastic. Thank you PSYMN. I will look into the "add frozen" option.
