Dear friends,

I have a wing with hex mesh around it and that mesh is quite good for this geometry (Thanks to Far!).
But now I have come to a difficulty! I have modified the wing geometry by creating a slot on the upper surface and now I need to mesh inside this slot either. The slot is a quad prism oriented along the span. The problem is that I don't know any simple way to perform meshing without recreating the whole blocking.
I thought of adding a separate new block inside the slot and mesh it, but that didn't work since ICEM could not handle it. I have also attached a couple images of wing with slots and current blocking.
Could anybody solve this problem? I would really appreciate.
Thanks.

you can create block from vertices. This is known as bottom up blocking.

Thank you Far!

I see, but since I have modified the geometry, there is no vertices at the corners of the slot! How can I produce these vertices?!

Should I generate the vertices at the slot corners?! If yes, how?!

kad will become famous soon enoughkad will become famous soon enough
If the blocks inside of the wing were not deleted permanently, you can move them from VORFN back to FLUID. Then add the splits that you need for the slot and adjust mesh sizes.

just right click on screen. after that you will go into the screen selection mode. Now choose any 8 locations in some logical order (see help). Now merge them with existing blocking. You may need to make some splits in main blocking ...

Sorry Far, I cannot get you! How is it possible to select vertices while we do not have them?!
