Node count does not match product of streamwise and wall nodes
 

Good day, all -

I have a 2D C-grid structured mesh. The domain and mesh are shown below.

ICEM determines the total nodes to be 96474. Referring to the first figure, this should be the product of the 2(N * S) nodes, with N and S being determined with the Edge Params function in the Pre-Mesh Params section of the Blocking tab. However, the values are slightly off...

Total Nodes: 96474
2(N * S) = 98790

How can this be?

I also tried using the Mesh Info function, which gave the "Element Parts" on each boundary...

Farfield (entire outer C structure): 527
Outlet: 364
(527 * 364) = 95914

This is closer to the Total Nodes value, but not quite right.
