ICEM boundary condition problem
I'm working on an simple 2D simulation of a fluid flow over an airfoil, just to get started with FLUENT and ICEM CFD. I've created a hexa mesh in ICEM following the tutorial of Simon Pereira, which is posted on youtube (thank you Simon :D). The only difference is that I don't have a sharp edge airfoil. I've created three parts/ boundary regions: INLET, OUTLET and WALL.
ICEM warns me that I have single edges after checking the unstructured mesh but that isn't a problem in a 2D planer mesh as far as I know. When I convert the mesh to an unstructured mesh the INLET and the WALL become one single boundary region. I have attached a picture for better understanding.
Can anyone help me fix this problem? Thank you.
Are the curves under the inlet and wall in separate parts (such as INLET and WALL)? Are the edges associated to those curves? Were you careful to make sure that the edges are not associated to both the INLET and WALL curves? Associating to both would "Group" the curves.
Turn off all the parts except INLET or WALL and turn on all the uns mesh (lines and shells)... What do you see?
I've solved the problem. The associations were done incorrectly. I've associated the higher, lower and the left line of the block with the wall and the inlet arc. Changed the associations and got the problem fixed... thanks to you.
