Hello there.

I have a quick question about using mesher in Ansys 13. Currently, whenever I generate a mesh, it only uses 25% of my processing power. I assume this is because I have a quad core, and it is set to only use a single core. I know how to change this setting when starting fluent, but I don't know how to change this setting in mesher. I have gone under tools -> options, and set my CPUs to 4, but that didn't seem to do anything.

Any idea how to get mesher to use all the processing power my computer has available?

It depends on the mesher. Some methods such as PI Tetra, Uniform Quad, "Post" Prism and MultiZone are multi threaded and can use SMP up to 8 CPUs... But other methods don't. You can change the number of CPU's (I forget where exactly), but by default, it is set to 0, which is a nonsensical number that means "use them all".

Me too! I also want to know how to maximize my CPU usage during meshing.

On a related note, is distributed memory parallel in ICEM still planned for R14? Also, do you know if it will require an ICEM license for each PC?
