Help with sliding mesh

Hi all,
I’m a bit of a noob to ICEM and I’m wondering if any of ye could help me out. I’m trying to model the flow of water over a 5 blade turbine. I know I need to use a sliding mesh but I am unsure as to how I do this. Do I need to create the geometry for both the rotating section and stationary section and mesh them separately then join them together somehow before importing into Fluent. Or is the whole geometry drawn as one and the boundary conditions can be applied in fluent. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Patrick.

I've meshed it as one whole geometry, but the mesh is very poor. Anyone know how I could improve it.
