Hi everyone,

I am currently modelling a Formula Student car within a wind tunnel. I created the car as a closed volume and encompassed a wind tunnel (in 6 sections to decrease mesh density away from the car) around it. I then subtracted the car volume from the volume of the wind tunnel (using retain) and meshed the faces of the car and the volumes of the wind tunnel. After setting up all of my boundary and continuum conditions I imported it into Fluent to be greeted with the message "ERR: cannot change interior.7 to interior as there is only one adjacent cell thread". I have tried everything I can to rectify it, including attempting to unite the faces that are causing the problem - I cannot do this due to the fact they are referenced by surrounding geometry!

Does anyone know how I can fix this? Or is there perhaps a simpler way to model what I have described? Any advice would be a great help as time is running out!

Thanks!

-mAx- will become famous soon enough
which software?
I assume Gambit...
When you substract your car, don't enable the retain option

You're a star! I read elsewhere that I needed to check the retain box?! I'll give that a try right away, thanks again!
