When I run Tgrid, during prism generation, I run into an error where some element has a left-handed face. What does that mean?

Also, is there any way to use the display>grid to show me where the faces are that Tgrid referrs to with it's numbering system? Like, how do I know which face is face bf8886117?

Is there a 64-bit version of Tgrid?

Thanks.

Well, I found out that my edge lengths were less than the first height, which can generate this message. Changing the first height and increasing the number of layers can work.

But I still don't know how to display it - when I check left-handed in the display menu, nothing comes up. Is this because Tgrid removed the last bad layer? How can I tell where they are, then?

1. Well, If you want to display a boundary face (bfxxxxxxxx) just go to
Boundary--->Modify----> and then click "face" in "Filter" tab and then type bfxxxxxxx (what ever number) in "enter selection" tab and then press enter, and then if you want to view it go to display---->grid---->faces select all "face zones" but donīt select any thing in "options" and then click "display" you will see the boundary face which you have typed.

2. I think tgrid is same for both 32 and 64 versions.

Thanks for the help on the view portion.

I don't think tgrid is the same though - I've run into an "out of memory" error with large meshes. I have 12GB of RAM, so..

One more way to locate the region would be

put in the desired face node or zone name in the display panel range set a small range and you would see it in the range you have set. i.e. local view...........

The 32 bit and 64 bit would be much more same as far as the source code is concerned

The Malloc error might occur as your hardware is insufficient to handle the mesh count that's being generated.
