Hi,

I ran into an annoying problem when trying to mesh my wind turbine blade inside my flow domain. I repeatedly obtain mesh elements inside a part of my blade upon applying an automesh. I've rebuilt the blade several times and I still get the same problem. I have the file to hand if anyone would be willing to be so kind as to have a quick look at it. Maybe a fresh pair of eyes could see what it is that I'm overlooking. I've attached a photo of the basic setup. It features a inner semi cylinder encompassing the blade which will roatate with the blade. The outer semicylinder should remain stationary. A velocity inlet boundary condition will be applied and an outflow opposite to this.

Thanks,

Eoin

Are you sure that you have suppressed or deleted the wind turbine body?

Hi,

I've tried that but it seems to be a geometry error in the turbine. I created the turbine by joining airfoil shapes using surfaces. On close inspection, there appears to be very small holes in the geometry so I rebuilt it a couple of times and tried altering the tolerance settings in the geometry repair window. I also rebuilt the turbine using pro engineer but was also unsuccessful. Any ideas?

Thanks
