Can not use bocos in Fluent after ICEM

Hello,

I have been having some trouble lately because of the mesh I am working on. Now it looks good and it is almost finished, but I have this little but very important problem I can not fix.

When exporting my mesh to Fluent the boundary conditions of the inlets in the mesh (the little inlets at left and right, see file attached) are not referenced by Fluent. It is driving me crazy because I do not know what I have to do. I have associated the blocking edges to these external walls, then I associated the mesh lines to the geometry (in the repair mesh menu) and they are not shown in Fluent.

Do someone know how to solve this? It does not seem very complex, but I just can not realize how to do so.

hello,

If you are refring to the small inlets on right and left as in yout tetin (1.jpg) file then you cannot view them in fluent simply because you dont have any blocks and so no mesh in this region(2.jpg). You have to split the block and create the blocks for this region and then associate the edges(3.jpg) then you can view the inlets in the Fluent.

I am trying to do as you explained, but then the meshing goes a little crazy. I am going to keep trying it as you said, but by now I can not solve it

one more thing your mesh is non-conformal mesh, because of this you have penetrating elements which will create problems in the solver. Are you sure you want a non-conformal mesh, You you want to remove the non conformity the you have to merge the vertices at that 3 locations.

I really don't know what are you referring to. I think I don't want a non-conformal mesh, but I don't know why it is non-conformal.

The block splitting to mesh this inlets is driving me crazy. How did you do it? I really appreciate your help, even with pictures, but I can't do it as you did. I know this is a relatively easy geometry, but it's been really complicated for me to mesh.

Did you tried out Tutorials ob Hexa blocking before starting your project?
it would be good you you can know the basic commands necessary to create blocking.

Regsrding the confermal mesh check out the image attached.

I did the tutorials of the 2D geometries. I will try to fix it and don't keep bothering you!

You have been very helpful but this is the first project I have done besides the tutorials and it's being complicated for me.

I will post any solutions I achieve

Hey jeevankumarb, I finally got it. I was associating wrongly the curves to the edges. Now it is working and I did it as you said. I tried it on Fluent and it is working!
