Hello,

I am trying to mesh the figure attached. I can make a hex mesh perfectly fine, but the question I have is how to make the mesh so that FLUENT recognizes my inlet hole on the surface. Basically, the small circle and one of the big circle are the inlet while the other is the outlet.

Thanks

Hi Lee,

Before building the Hex mesh you need to close the smaller and bigger holes ( the inlets and the outlet) with surfaces. Associate the blocking faces with the respective surfaces in ICEM CFD. When you import this mesh into FLUENT you can assign the inlet and outlet boundary conditions to the respective surfaces.

I'd suggest that you read the section on BCs in the FLUENT help manual and the section on block associations in the ICEM CFD documentation. Basic tutorials in ICEM and FLUENT can help you gain a better insight
