Hi all,
I have a problem with the Solidworks Geometry interface - line bodies are not being imported. BladeModeler/DesignModeler is attached to an active Solidworks model. This successfully imports the model, and parameter changes are successful - i.e. the bidirectional capability is working. I have the 'Import Line Bodies' option turned on. In DM, I have 3D bodies imported from my solidworks part (which is a duct, diffuser and hub geometry for a turbine). I'd like to add some turbine blades using bladeEditor, so need to define a flowpath. First problem was that, when defining my flowpath, I could not pick up the edges defining the hub and shroud contours from the solid body. Upon further investigation, I found that I need the profile of the hub and shroud (and inlet/outlet) contained in sketches in DesignModeler, which I can then use to define the flowpath. However, for the life of me I can't find a way of copying an edge of the solid body to be a curve in a DM sketch. As I understood it, the 'Import Line Bodies' option in the SolidWorks interface to mean that sketches are copied through as well. That's clearly not the case. As it stands, I can't even recreate the sketches I need by overdrawing them - as I can't snap sketch entities to edges or points on the imported solid body, or associate dimensions between SW and DM Does anyone know how to get the interface to work? Or can anybody think of a workaround? I could import via IGES etc but would lose my parametric description of the model, which I need for the next optimisation step. Thanks for any help you can offer, Cheers, Tom |
