Mesh file format: basic information about materials

Hi,

I'm meshing geometries in ICEM CFD and then export these meshes in fensap format to be used later. The problem is that there is no information about materials in this mesh format. I need just the basic info "material - mesh element", for example:
Material #1: elements 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12
Material #2: elements 3, 4, 5, 9, 10

Are there any mesh formats (ascii) that include this information?

Thanks!

Sure... These properties are not in the uns file, but they can be included in the output files...

First change your settings => Product so you can have FEA options.

This will add a properties tab (along with loads and constraints tabs).

Under Properties, you can add material properties to the volume elements.

Then output in an FEA format that supports material information... Like ANSYS or Nastran or LS-DYNA or ABAQUS...

Thanks! I'll try to play with all these formats.
