Dear all

In gambit, after meshing and specifying boundaries, once i try to export the 2D file to fluent, the following error is generated

"Face Face 1 has higher order elements and cannot be exported to Fluent 5 format"

I have tried different mesh types and sizes but could not get rid of the error

The file pertains to an aerofoil created by joining 49 x,y points through NURB curve in gambit

Thanking in anticipation, please help

-mAx- will become famous soon enough
did you change something in Set Face Element Type (surface/mesh)?
Default should be 4 node for quadrilateral and 3 node for triangle
Shayan, Ty@flent and naveensdas like this.

Yes. This was precisely the reason. The settings were found altered to higher values and restoring them to default enabled the mesh to be exported successfully to fluent by writing the .msh file.
Hats off to your judgement and many many thanks
