td2e09 is on a distinguished road
Hello. I am trying to model flow through a circulating water flume in Ansys CFX, and using ICEM CFD as my mesh generator. I want to have periodicity in my simulation, such that I can define an inlet, and when the flow reaches the outlet these conditions are then fed back to the inlet, and this keeps going until the flow has fully developed.

My understanding is that I require translational periodicity, and the specification of domain interfaces at the outlet and inlet. I want to know how to create the interfaces in ICEM. Should I create them as surfaces in ICEM. Also where should i put them. As I cannot put them directly on top of the inlet and outlet, where else would be the best place.

Any help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated, and I would be happy to discuss my simulation in more detail if necessary. Thanks and best wishes
