Hello.

I was trying to "mesh" a racecar's airfoil but unfortunately I found a problem. I chose ch10 airfoil. In order to simulate the behaviour of a racecar's airfoil I "inverted" its coordinates.

These coordinates are in this file:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9PCTD41O

In order to mesh it I created 3 faces (rect1, rect2 and arc).

The coordinates of the points/vertexes used (A, B,...G) are:

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...ordinates.jpg/

When I imported airfoil's geometry in Gambit I chose to import only "edges". The airfoil's geometry is represented by one edge called "edge1".

I created a face called "airfoil" starting from this "edge1".

The problem emerges when I try to subtract the face "airfoil" from face "arc" using a boolean operation (subtract).

I received the following error message:

"ERROR: ACIS error 8004:inconsistent containment of intersection curve. Restoring the geometric model to the state before the current operation (if there is a positive number of default UNDO levels)."

Here is the *.dbs file:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TMMWE6J5

I would be very grateful if someone can help me.

Thanks in advance.

Regards, Susan.

-mAx- will become famous soon enough
the problem is on edges GA EG CG: they have common vertex G with your airfoil, so:
*delete faces rect1 rect2 and ark (disable lower geometry option)
*create new face with AB AF EF DE CD BC (outer domain without splits)
*split this new surface with airfoil
*delete surface airfoil
*split new splitted surface with GA CG
*Then with CG and EG

That's it
