Associating two edges to one curve problem
I'm creating a fully structured 3d mesh of a propeller blade passage.
The propeller geometry from hub to tip is defined by one curve at the leading edge and two curves at the trailing edge.
When I create an O-Grid around the blade (creating four edges) , I associate one edge to each trailing edge curve, but then have to associate two edges to the single leading edge curve. I THINK this is causing problems on the blade mesh as there seems to be an overlap in the mesh.
Has anyone got any ideas how to resolve this issue?
I was thinking of maybe trying to creat another replica curve, but this may change the geometry and hence the entire problem being modelled.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Firstly I must remind I am also a newbie to both software and structured mesh.
When you assign two edges to the same curve and move the vertices, the block and/or the edge in between doesnt vanish but gets compressed and hence you either get overlap mesh/mesh with bad quality/triangulation.
Try deleting the block between the two edges permanently, assign one set of edge and vertices to the curve and merge the other to the prior. This might solve the problem.
This is what I did for similar kind of problem. Anyways there could be better solutions which I also would like to know.
Thanks for the reply Sai.
It was a good idea!
However, in the end I assigned the edges to the surface of the blade. It seems to do the trick but means have to do a lot more work as need to have lots of blocks along the blade to define the surface!
Maybe you coudl try quarter of O-grid !
But it's hard to help without any pictures.
