Default Generating a Uniform mesh with ICEM

To generate a uniform mesh for the Fluid volume in ANSYS workbench I was resorting to body sizing and global mesh settings but in the case of ICEM CFD I don't see any thing like body sizing so would it be just fine to simply go with the global settings over there to get a uniform mesh in ICEM CFD.

Do you want Hexa or Tetra mesh?
For Tetra mesh, you have to create a body (Geometry -> Create Body).
For Hexa mesh, ICEM creates a new part (by default SOLID).

Then, go to Mesh -> Part Mesh Setup and set the size for each part.

I think Santhosh is talking about setting sizes on a part... More specifically, mesh density within the volume of a part. He probably wants to set this size smaller then is overall global max size.

Under the Mesh tab, you can set sizes by part, but that applies to the surface and curve entities of that part.

ICEM CFD doesn't really have the same concept as a "solid", so if you want to set the max size for a body (the full volume within a part), you really need to create a density region. You can create this around the part, but it will start as a box from min xyz to max XYZ. You can modify the corners to fit better, but some shapes work best with a number of smaller density regions overlapped.

Get started on that and I can answer more specific operational questions later.
