I have exported an assembly as a STEP from ProE, but am having trouble getting the GAMBIT/FLUENT license to recognize the ProE connection.

Would you please:

Import the STEP into a FLUENT5/6 session
SAVE the session
E-mail me file

should take all of 2 minutes

PM me if you can help and I'll e-mail you the files right away

Once you exported your step from ProE, then you don't need any proE connection or whatever.
You just need to import your step file in Gambit. (File/Import/Step...)

Translation requires license feature geom-trans.

I get that error when I try to import.

I believe it is because ProE was not installed when GAMBIT/FLUENT was installed.

no it is because you don't have the geom-trans license.
Send me your step file
I sent you a private message

Hi,

I wanted to run gambit to my pro-e model but dont really have an idea how to do so. I have created a STEP file of my pro-e model and managed to open it on gambit. Any idea what my next steps should be? do i need to create boundary layers?

Thanks.

I can upload my pro-e model if any1 is kind enough to have a look

I think you forgot something in your export, since it imports only 3 faces
