Hey,

I am trying to export the mesh I have created using ANSYS Meshing in WB 13 to Abaqus. I have tried every given export file option, but Abaqus does not recognize any of them. Abaqus says it can read Ansys input file (.cdb), but I can't seem to export to this format.

Does anyone what I can do? I need this since I am doing a FSI calculation using fluent and abaqus in conjunction.

Did you ever come to solve this problem - of course it has been years, but I am looking at the same problem now - how do I export this magical "cdb" format that Abaqus wants to have. All I can generate is a .in file (from ICEM CFD).

A cdb file can be written by MAPDL using the CDWRITE command (see MAPDL command documentation). So you need to get your mesh into ANSYS MAPDL first. Alternatively, if you get your mesh into Workbench/Mechanical, then you can insert a command snippet with a CDWRITE command so that when you solve the case a cdb file will be created.

Hi,

I did get it to work, but I do not remember how. I am very sorry, but I'll try to have a look at my old files and see if I find my meshes and what format they were.
