I'm trying to create grids for Hoerner's Tip for a turbulent solver. I'm using a C-grid for the LE of the half wing. However, I'm getting very skewed cells at the wing tip and I suspect it's the reason for divergence when the mesh is used in Fluent.
Please take a look at the attached images. Any suggestion on how I can get rid of these skewed cells? |

you need to make the better topology in the tip region. For reference download the mesh files of DLR-F6 test case from NASA web site (icem meshing with tin and blocking)

What topology would you suggest?

check topology in these files
ftp://cmb24.larc.nasa.gov/outgoing/D...em/wb/icemcfd/ Also check this ftp://cmb24.larc.nasa.gov/outgoing/D...lock_icem_cfd/ Last edited by Far; January 15, 2012 at 15:36. Reason: Images |
