trouble in surface mesh

Hi, all

I'm trying to build a 3d mesh for a wind turbine with a 5mm prism layer, however, I stuck in the first step.

firstly, I'm trying to generate mesh with Octree method, however, there is some problem on the trailing edge of the blade

Then, I tried to generate surface mesh first on the blade, however, when I checked the mesh from Edit Mesh->Check Mesh, more weird stuff showed up, I have no idea about how to deal with them

There must be something wrong on the trailing edge. but I don't know how to deal with it.

I had check the topology, it seems to be fine

but I still have problem like this

It's driving me crazy.... I had gone through all the tutorials form customer portal, but still have tons of problems using ICEM.....:mad::mad:

surface mesh problem

Dear try first by using default sizing, mean max element size = 0 and in part modal params put 0 too.

ICEM try to mesh with a suitable size, may be helpful.

Or you can check the curvature/proximity.

regards

Ali

Hi, Ali

Thanks for your reply.
I'm new to 3d meshing and cad stuff... It's pretty messy :(:(
I spent more time yesterday and found all the problem are from the dirty geometry.....
I fixed lots of problem on geometry and it works much better now.
right now I have some problem about overlapping elements, I clicked fix button but it does not fix the problem.
Any other ways to deal with overlapping elements?

Thanks

Hi,

Put the overlapping elements in the subset and switch off the shell mesh.

Add 1 or 2 layers of elements in the subset by right click on the subset and see how the mesh looks, there might be one element over the other. Delete the unwanted elements and check the mesh using mesh check.
