Dissociate blocks number of nodes
Suppose we have a Y shape geometry. We get three blocks to hexa meshing this geometry. The upper part of the Y shape would get two blocks one each branch; the number of nodes in each block are equal. If we change the number of nodes at any edge both block nodes number will change.
My question is that I need fewer number of nodes in one of the two blocks and keep the other block nodes constant. I know that Refine block option allows me to add extra nodes

I am struggling with an issue that restricts me from changing node distributions freely. I have a "cake slice" of a valve, and this valve possesses a strainer. The strainer holes are to be modelled. The problem is when it comes to meshing the triangular shape resulting from the slice. In gambit I would have used the tri-primitive scheme, and then sweep it downwards. Here I do a sort of Y Block. But. When I try to change the number of nodes on the Y branches, so that the side walls remain periodic (evenly distributed), this alters an even distribution of nodes on other edges back at the strainer. I will upload a picture for a better view, given some time.
I hope both questions receive answers.
Change the node number on one edge of one of the Y block would result in a change to another block. But next edge which intersecting with the previous mentioned one would not. You can add/decrease the number to work out a specific mesh resolution.
