Import of DWG-files from AutoCAD2011 to ICEM13.0; inner structure is missing

Moin,

I tried to "import" 2 model in ICEM 13.0. The models are constructed with AutoCAD and saved as DWG-files. One model is a cylinder and inside are sverel plates with a triangular hole each to separate the space inside the cylinder.
The other model is also a cylinder but with a helical structure (like a circular stair but without edges) inside running from the bottom to the top.

When I import these geometries in ICEM the inner part is missing. Does someone have an idea what to do or where a mistake could had happend?

Kind regards and thanks in advance,

Sören

I don't know why, but I can suggest a work around...

I suggest trying to export from Autocad in some other format, such as acis (*.sat) or parasolid...

Hi,

thanks for the reply. I exported the geometry with AutoCAD into a Acis file. The problem is that AutoCAD ignored some parts because they are no "regions", "volumes" or "ShapeManager-objects". But I could reduce them down to 4 objects.
Export or save as a "parasolid" is not possible because AutoCAD seems not to know this format.

But the acis-file worked. Thanks a lot.
