icem_structured

hello..
i have been working on an axi symmetric supersonic engine inlet. The inlet section is conical. Near the vertex of the cone only 3 edges are there which are to be mapped with 4 edges at the end of the cone. Also the cone has to be captured perfectly to analyze the shock wave. So please some one help me to get rid of this problem.

You can use the blocking method with ANSYS ICEM. You might draw a cylinder and match the topology of the cylinder to the cone so that the meshing will be structured if you want it.

Try using the collapse blocks option in ICEM. Attached picture might be of some use. Refer to the help documentation for more clarification, it is good.

FYI: Beware all the blocks ahead of it get collapsed.
