how to refine the mesh

Hello, everyone.

I'm now working on the ICEM to make a mesh to be used in Fluent. I have some problems how to make some places in the mesh have more grids.

Like the pictures downward, the first one is which I made in the ICEM, the second one is from a journal paper. My question is how can I make the mesh like the second one, what method I can use? Thanks a lot!

Looks like you are new to ICEM, :-)

First, you can set the surface/curve parameters to have different mesh size on/around the features. It can be reached at Mesh/Surface Mesh or Mesh/Curve Mesh. Of course, you need to set the global parameters first. Second, you can creat mesh density zones at positions that are not easy to be controlled by previous mentioned operations.

Anyway, I would suggest you to have some tutorial practice before going on some practical projects. Before control it, you need to know what it is.
