CFX vs FLUENT for particle tracking simulation

hi everybody
I'm going to do some simulation of water flow in pipeline with particle tracking
i have done some searching and found that it is very common to use FLUENT or CFX (becide that, my university has a license for these software), however i cant decide which one i should use since I'm totally new to CFD software!!
i would be grateful if you help me answer these particular questions:
- for fluid field (and flow) simulation, is there any difference bt the two software?
- for particle tracking can i use either one? which one is better? and why?
- finally, if i need to move to another CFD software (e.g. from CFX to FLUENT) or integrate with MatLab i s it possible?

Fluent can track particles, yes, and provides macros for integrating user-selected properties over the particle tracks. I have no experience as to what are the coding capabilities of CFX in this regard.
