ANSYS/DNS question
Hi everyone,
I am pretty new to CFD and am using ANSYS CFX for my simulations. I am wondering if ANSYS CFX uses direct numerical simulation in all of it's calculations or how it is possible to know what type of calculations it is doing. Sorry for the basic questions, any help is appreciated. |
Per an ANSYS engineer at their Automotive Simulation World Conference last year, no ANSYS product currently supports DNS.

As far as i know, switching off the turbulence modeling ("laminar") results in a DNS. This is possible with the ansys products I know.
This partly covers the initial question. The type of turbulence model you are using determines which equations are solved. |
