Hello I need to generate a mesh around a cone (to simulate supersonic flow over a cone) I desperately need some guidance on how I can do this? I am very familiar with 2d blocking of a wedge, but I dont have much experience in the 3d relm...please any help will be greatly appreciated

Hi,

To mesh your cone, it depends of what you know about supersonic flows.

What is your meshing software? (Ansys meshing, gambit, ICEM ...)
Do you have some knowledge about supersonic flows, like how to predict the shock angle?
What is your interrest in the modeling, the layer, the shock angle, the heat transfer...?
