Hello,

I am simulating a flow through a pipe in ANSYS CFX. I am particular interested in the pressure drop.

Up to present I post-processed as follows:
1. I create a location (Line) through the pipe (through the origin)
2. I create a diagram that displays the pressure along this line vs. the position.

How ist it possible to create a diagram displaying the area average pressure vs. the position?

I could not figure it out. The only way I found it could work is, when I create planes and use expressions to calculate the average pressure at every plane. Then I would use the results of those expressions and create the diagram.

Hopefully there is faster way, that I just did not found yet.

Thank you in adavance.

Christoph

In a workshop I found a way to this. Save it as a .cse File und play it as a session in CFD-Post. Of course you need to edit the plane information and the coding at the end.

Code:
# generate area average volume fractions as a function of axial position

# open output file for data
!open OUT,"> vfrac.csv";

#print header info

!print OUT "Vapour.Volume Fraction [m^3/m^3], z [m]\n";
