Ansys15 editor problems onto 'not supportet' OS
 

Good Morning Community,

we are trying to run a local installed Ansys15 on a OpenSuSE 13.1 but we stumble into several problems. We know, the OS is 'not supported' by ANSYS but we have no problems with the former versions onto older OpenSuSE versions.

The error named 'unable to start mechanical editor'.
The console shows 'A fatal error has occurred within AnsysWBU.exe and it must be closed...' The same error message does also occurred, when we are going to start the geometry editor.

According to other threads in this forum we have tried to deactivate the firewall and (re)installed the nvidia graphic driver (inc. reboot) and have preloaded the mechanical and geometry editor in the options.

Do you have any other ideas how we can get rid of this problem?

Hi Christian,

On unsupported OS, usually you need to find the equivalent needed packages for your OS. Since CentOs is based on RedHat, you can first try to install lsb and after that all the packages related to MesaGL (MesaGL, MesaGLw, and all the devel packages as well).

It's written for RHEL 6.6 (which is not supported despite being an official distro) but it works for SuSE 13.1 like a charm.
