hi everyone,

i am trying to simulate the granular flow in a screw conveyor. i have made the geometry using ansys design modeler and meshing. fluid domain is extracted and an unstructured mesh is generated. now the problem i am facing is are

meshing quality is very low and i don't know how to improve it?

how to configure fluent?

how to rotate the blade/threads of conveyor?

Thanks...

For mesh quality, you would need to apply mesh controls in model details, from what I can understand in your question.. About configuring Fluent, that is quite a broad question so have a look at some basic Fluent tutorials regarding MRF/ mesh motion & sliding etc..

Thanks fresty.
i have tried mesh control methods but the aspect ratio is quite large. it goes up to 30-40. is this aspect ratio is valid?
in fluent i want to rotate the screw. is it possible to rotate screw body at desired RPM?

Doesn't seem like.. pictures of your mesh?
Yes you could do that using both MRF and Mesh Motion model..
