HI ALL!!
I am new in this forum and i have a question.... i am using FLOTRAN module of ANSYS 12.0 inorder to study ventilation performance inside hospital wards. my question is regarding the grid independency... can any one give me a simple explanation on what does it mean and how to do it.... Thanks in advance!

Hard to believe you couldn't find it in the forum or elsewhere.. anyway, probably the simplest descriptive explanation could be: to reduce the mesh element size (increase grid density) till the solution is independent of further grid resolution... however, it depends on what exactly is the objective of the simulation and the level of accuracy required, both set forth by the user... normally the values of desired variables are compared statistically with previous/ next/ mean/ initial values and the solution is termed grid independent once percentage deviation/ difference is sufficiently reduced..
