Hi,

Some people have made a cfd termo-fluidic simulation with ansys cfx for me. They have passed to me a *.res file with the results.
I'd like to check the results with in my computer, however I only have Ansys workbencc with Mechanical & Structural Licences.

Anybody knows if there is any way to read these results without having Ansys cfx?

Thanks

Jay

cfx-viewer is designed for this purpose.

.res is a binary format. In order to use CFX Viewer (Free), they should send you .cvf files first. I believe unless you write a code to read binary files, which is not practical; you should ask them to send you txt file of results set, or generate cvf files. Although cvf files are saved for current 3D state of the post processing tool; so they need to generate separate files for separate set of results (ie stream line, section cut, vectors etc)

Ultimately you need to purchase CFD-Post to read .res files.
