Noone here to help??

I have sent this question before and apparently noone either knew what to do or didn't care...It should be simple to the one who is using ANSYS preproc. meshing features..
I have a circular cut out in my rectangular region model and I want to create a mapped mesh as you may see in the figure attached! I can also send the geometry of my model.. Simply meshing a circular pipe region with isoparametric QUADs..
Please let me know at hpcan@yahoo.com if you know how to create this mesh...Thanks

This looks like a structured O-grid mesh. The ANSYS mesh program can only do unstructured meshes. You'll need ICEM for this. Do the square-circle tutorial in ICEM found on the ANSYS portal.

Also, the reason people didn't respond is likely because you are asking how to make a mesh from scratch. This is a time-consuming operation. Nobody is here to do your work for you, and nobody is going to tell you step-by-step how to do a task like this. Read the posting guidelines here: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/cfx...ease-read.html

Do the tutorials. Play with the software. Read the documentation. If you're still having problems with something specific, post that.

thx

Hi Josh,

Thank you for your reply. I guess my post was a little rude but I was very frustrated. I actually meant a reply like yours. In fact in my previous post, I asked about how I can approach making a mesh like this and did not of course expect anyone to do my job for me. I am new here and do not have much idea about what programs can handle what type of meshing.
Is this "square-circle tutorial in ICEM found on the ANSYS portal" tutorial the one that I can access when I login to Ansys Customer Portal? I filled out a form to login and waiting for authorization. This is what you are talking about right?
Thank you

My mistake. It's difficult to perceive somebody's attitude through reading.

Welcome to the site. I joined last year when I was doing a summer studentship. I guess this site helped quite a bit because I am now doing a masters.

Yes, that tutorial is on the portal under ICEM Meshing. I don't recall the full name, but it's a half-sphere with a cube cut out of it. They mesh it with a structured hexahedral O-grid mesh.

It isnt easy to get a structured mesh in ansys-Pre....usually for such user controlled mesh generation use advanced mesh softwares like Hypermesh/Ansa in which you can easily set the size/biasing & get it done in few minutes..
if Ansys is your only option then u have to manually(painful) create a quarter model in & use reflect command to get the full mesh model..good luck..
