where to install and how to activate ANSYS

Hello everybody,

first of all thank you reading my thread.

I am new in CFD community. I am trying to model a rigid sphere entering into a viscous fluid with an initial velocity. Anyway one of the professors in my institution has ANSYS license. She told me that I can download it from web and then she can give me her activation key. Is this something possible? I am searching the entire net but there is nothing which can be legally downloaded. the only thing is user portal which requires an existing account number to access some source. is this the only way to download the product directly to my office computer?

so my question is what are the options to get the software? is there any web source to download the product as a trial version then convert it to a real one with an existing license? or the only way is the user portal which requires an account number?

thanks.

Ās far as I know, http://www1.ansys.com/customer/ is the only legal way to download.
There are two options: to download individual programs or entire ANSYS DVD(s) as ISO files.

Mybe your Prof. has a DVD or ISO file.
BTW I guess this licence "borrowing" method is unlikely to work, as ANSYS licence is linked to many other server parameters (hardware, network, etc.)
