Hi I'm trying the model the dynamic failure of glass using ANSYS workbench 12.1. I've set up a model of a plate 3mm thick being struck by a spherical ball. With the plate having fixed supports on each of its corners. At the moment the ball causes the plate to deflect but it won’t actually cause the plate to break (fracture). If I increase the velocity of the ball the plate just deflects further (far beyond any realistic strain it would be able to withstand).

What data do I need to add to cause the plate to act like glass and actually fail?
I appreciate any help.
