Suggestions for simplyfying propeller geometry?
I am trying to create a volume mesh for a propeller and plane body, but I am having great issues using clean up tools etc. It is imported as a parasolid body from solidworks ( originally from http://grabcad.com/library/xoar-21x8-propeller), and in solidworks I have tried numerous techniques trying to create a one solid surface/volume from the faces - but to no avail.
Once imported into gambit I am running clean-up diagnosis for sharp angles, and employing the chop feature to clean these up. Then I am trying to convert these virtual faces that this feature creates into real faces, and some of these will not convert. I have also tried to merge faces, and then convert the resulting virtual volume into a real volume and this crashes gambit. I will attach the gambit files - let me know if anyone has any suggestions for simplifying/cleaning up the propeller geometry.
