Hey guys,
I am trying to wrap a thin strip onto a slender cylindrical rod within static structural module of ANSYS 13. I essentially set two boundary conditions:
1. Angular velocity on the rod for rolling
2. Force on the strip to keep the strip straight
I have attached the unrolled and rolled state of what I want. So far within ANSYS, the solution produces huge distortion for the strip geometry.
As a matter of fact, I am not quite sure if I'm even using the correct module. So far only the static structural module seems to produce something other than error.
Please provide some pointers as how I can achieve the correct result. Your help is very much appreciated.
