CFdesign problems

Hi All,

I am having problems with CFdesign (V9) and PROE (W3). I have a model opened correctly at PROE, but when I tried to open it at CFDesign the CFDesign reports next error:

GEdge::mergeUses - error: couldn't find merge use 2393
Edge Information:
GEdge::mergeUses - error: couldn't find merge use 2393
Edge Information:
Invalid Model Detected!

The model has three parts, and I can open them separately, but not the assembly :confused:.
Is the CFDesign "more compatible" with other 3D program, such as Catia?. Have you ever had problems like this, opening models in CFDesign?

Basically, I only want to open a .stp file in CFDesign.

Thanks for your help.

CFDesign does have issues with ProE data (rather it is converted to a .stp file or not). Make sure you don't have any interferrance in your volumes. This will cause a failure.

CFdesign

Hi there,

I work for CFdesign, happy to help if you need it.
Where are you based?

Are you trying to read in a step file or a .asm from ProE? If you go from ProE, there would be no file conversion taking place.

Please feel free to email me if I can help you out, no probs

Jon

ProE

I work for Mentor Graphics and we produce an excellent piece of CFD software called EFD - this runs inside all popular CAD packages including ProE, there are therefore no conversion problems at all, ever.

It is a very capable solver inside and I can almost guarantee we will be able to solve your problem.

I am not sure where you are based but if you let me know I can point you in the right direction for a local Mentor office. In the meantime our website is http://www.mentor.com/products/mechanical/
