CFDesign
Hello,
has anyone ever used a commercial code called CFDesign ? It is developed by Blue Ridge Numerics, Inc. and is integrated in the Windows version of MSC/NASTRAN. I am trying to figure out which one is best: an unexpensive code like CFDesign or something widely used and recognized in the industry like StarCD or Fluent... Any ideas or experience would be welcome. Thanks a bunch. Alexis |
Re: CFDesign
Alexis,
I'm currently using CFDesign. It is a good code for someone who won't be doing CFD fulltime. I recently took a training course in STAR-CD. It is much more complex (but obviously more powerful). I've used CFDesign for airflow manifold design problems with good success. It handles multiple fluids/solids (non-interacting), sub and supersonic, thermal, bouyant, and transient boundaries. It's a very easy program to learn how to use. Jeff W |
