Hi everyone, I would like to know if Autodesk Simulation CFD 2012 is suitable for simulating airflow in a building with ventilation system? I see that the software use finite element method to discretize the partial differential equations instead of finite volume control method. How can I evaluate the conservation of mass, momentum and energy in this software? How about funtion of the mesher in this software? Thank you very much for your time.
Best, Li |

This is definitely possible and there are a lot of successful customers in this space.
Check out these pages from the CFdesign website for some specifics (as of yet I know no equivalent link on the Autodesk domain): http://www.cfdesign.com/Will-CFdesig...gineering.aspx http://www.cfdesign.com/Will-CFdesig...blem/HVAC.aspx |

I am interested in these topic. I am now BIM tools user, and use Revit as my platform. I would like to do some sample on HVAC and other related simulation of Building industry regarding CFD. Is there any sample that I could try?

I found the following Quick Start Guide for Simulation CFD (CFdesign) and Revit by Googling "CFD for Revit". There are some sample models attached to it:
