Hi guys,
I am doing mesh refinement in the star ccm+ of an impeller of centrifugal compressor. The mesh is polyhedral. Any suggestions how to do good mesh refinement of an impeller in star ccm+. I shall be very thankful to all for valuable suggestions. Regards Saram. |

There are several ways to get around it, you could create a volumetric control and increase the mesh density. You could specify a small surface size and growth rate from the impeller. Bottom line is that there are multiple ways to get to the desired mesh. Some work amazingly quick and some take eons!. My suggestion would be to experiment as much as possible with the mesh and decide on the one which gives you acceptable y+ and Computational Cost.
