Hi all, I am trying to incorporate shell auto-ignition into my model of gasoline HCCI engine with a intake port. Since fresh charge is assumed to be well mixed in the intake port, no injection is involved.Contents of residuals(H2O,CO2 and N2)are set to be homogenous in the cylinder before intake valve opens. I use EBU standard, calculating the reactant distribution through "Transport". The problem is that no combustion occurred(judging from the pressure curve and the concentration of the products) even though radicals are generated. Moreover, radical2 is discovered in the intake port where I have't associate the chemical shceme. Totally confused! Dose anybody know why? Thanks for any help!

Hi,

I am just guessing, since I dont know exactly how you setup the case. Did you associate the reaction scheme??

Thanks first! Yes,I associated it with the cylinder material, and I guess that because of this the three radicals appeared. The problem is that there were no products of CO2 and H2O.

I am also trying to do ignition for nheptane with air and argon inside the the cylinder in 2D asymmetric model.

I am getting no rise in temperature during compression and when it reach 700K+ it donot ignite..

Pl suggest how to get initial presuree rise for compression of volume and ignition after that
