Cavitation Simulation by CFD

Hi everyone.

I'm trying to simulate the cavitation flow( steady or transient) in a hydroturbine impeller using my own code(SIMPLE algorithm) as well as by commercial software of TASCFlow or STAR-CD, which are available at hand. The cavitation model I am considering to use at the moment is sheer bubble cavitation model, which, I considered, is relatively simpler comparing to some other existing models.

The problem is that I am not so familiar to TASCFlow or STAR-CD software package. I do not know if it is possible to incorporate the cavitation model I desired into either of these CFD softwares and how to do, such as where is the interface or options.

Has anyone got any experience with this kind of problem? I would be very grateful for any recommandations or information concerning to my problems --- the algorithm, the cavitation model, and, especially, the use of TASCFlow or STAR-CD for cavitation prediction.

Thanks very much in advance.

Dear sir,

I am student of 3rd year mechanical engineering in andhra universiy, visakhapatnam, india. i am very much interested in the field of CFD.so i request u to send me some details about basic s of cfd for which i will be very thankful.

Would you please check and read the books edited by C.Hirsch? It is a good book about CFD, I think.
